Lumex
A game where a child or an adult names their goal in plain words — “count to twenty”, “get to grips with fractions”, “pass my exam”, “learn the English tenses” — and Lumex turns it into a path of locations and tasks that adapt to their level.
How it works
- Your goal becomes a route. The length of the path depends on how big the topic is: a narrow goal gets five to seven locations, exam preparation gets more than ten.
- The tasks adapt. After each set we look at correct answers, speed and mistakes: if it went easily, the next ones get harder; if you stumbled, they get simpler, with a guiding step.
- Mistakes don’t get lost. Each one goes into a review and comes back as a repeat after a day, three days, a week — until you solve it correctly.
- The format keeps changing. Multiple choice, typed answers, “true or false”, matching pairs, sorting, a speed mini-game and boss fights — so it never turns into a dull workbook.
What we store
- Without an account, your progress lives only in the browser on your device. We can’t see it and don’t send it anywhere.
- With an account, we store your email, an irreversible fingerprint of your password (we never know the password itself) and the progress itself — paths, experience, streak, mistake log. Nothing else.
- Task texts are generated by Claude (Anthropic). All it receives is the wording of the goal and anonymised answer statistics — no name, email or any other personal data.
- No ads and no selling of data. To see where the game is confusing, we count anonymised events — a visit, “named a goal”, “finished a lesson” — and log app errors. An event stores only a random device number (your account number once you sign in) — no name, no email, no ad trackers. Events are stored on our own server, and we view a copy of them in the PostHog analytics service — see the privacy policy for details.
Deleting your account
Settings has a “Delete account” option: it erases your email, password and all cloud progress permanently. You can also simply write to the address below.
Age and parents
The game is designed for schoolchildren and adults. Younger children don’t need an account — just open the game and name a goal. If a child is under 14, the account should be created by an adult.
Who it’s for
- Schoolchildren. Counting and times tables in primary school, fractions and equations in middle school, preparation for the state exams (OGE and EGE) — the goal fits in one sentence.
- Adults. Languages, the vocabulary of a new profession, preparing for a job interview: the path is built the same way, the tasks just come out more grown-up.
- Parents. The child studies on their own, while progress, the daily streak and the review of mistakes are visible in the profile.
FAQ
How much does it cost?
Nothing. The game is free and has no ads.
Do I need an account?
No. Without an account, your progress is kept in the browser. You only need an account to continue on another device and to keep your path if the browser data is cleared.
Only maths?
No. You describe your goal in your own words: languages, history, the vocabulary of a profession — Lumex will pick a task format to suit the topic. Maths just happens to come up most often.
What age is it for?
From about six, as long as the child can read. Tasks and hints adapt to the learner’s level, not their school year.
Data and rules
In short: without an account we store nothing about you; with an account — your email, password and progress. The full details are in the privacy policy.
